Javier Tafoya, CPFA®, MBA

“My goal is to deliver sound financial, investment and protection strategies that are designed to help you take control of your future.”

Javier works to create financial strategies through a combination of experience, knowledge and a focus on building lasting relationships with his clients. He explains complex issues in clear language to help people feel comfortable with the strategies they choose for retirement. His business career began in 2003, and for 11 years, he developed his experience and leadership skills while launching businesses and consulting for a diverse range of organizations, including startups, oil and gas companies, and Fortune 500 companies. In 2014, he became a retirement planning specialist to help people pursue financial independence.

Javier received his bachelor’s degree and his MBA, with an emphasis in accounting and finance, from Regis University and most recently received a Certificate in Retirement Planning from the Wharton School’s Executive Studies Program. He has passed the Series 7, 24 and 66 securities exams. In 2020, ColoradoBiz nominated Javier in a list of the 50 most influential young professionals across the Colorado business community.

Away from his office, Javier serves on the board of the Doreen Katz Memorial Cancer Foundation, which helps parents living with cancer by providing grants and resources to their children in need of school, sports or therapeutic activity. He is also dedicated to local wildlife, with efforts to help conserve more than 17,000 acres of Colorado land.

Todd A. Bower, J.D., MBA

Todd has seen his personal and professional paths become one, and both continue to travel the same road: the road of family and service.

After 30 years serving the public as a firefighter, Todd is ready to serve the community in another significant way: as a financial advisor. Hired as a firefighter for the Denver Fire Department in 1993, Todd worked his way through the ranks, including 10 years as second in command as the deputy fire chief of the department operating as COO and CFO, eventually being named interim fire chief of the DFD in 2020. Additionally, he participated in 25 years of collective bargaining negotiations. Throughout his civic career, he remained committed to learning and higher education, earning advanced degrees in business, finance and law. He also served in executive positions during his career, including 18 years as a public pension plan trustee, where he served two terms as vice chairman and chairman of the board as well as on numerous committees and task forces to create and advocate for legislation to improve the rights and resources of his fellow public employees.

Todd earned his MBA in finance and accounting from Regis University and his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Colorado Denver. He also received his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver College of Law and passed the Colorado bar exam in 1999. He has passed the Series 7 and 66 securities exams.

Todd is married to his high school sweetheart, Anntonette (Toni), and they have two grown children — both studying in medical school — and a daughter-in-law, who is a pharmacist.
